Relax and take your time. (Standing in front of a mirror may be helpful)
Gently pull your lower eyelid down with your forefinger to form a pocket for the drops.
Tilt your head back and look up. (It's sometimes helpful to look away from the tip of the dispenser)
Holding the dispenser between the thumb and forefinger, rest your hand against your nose to position the dispenser and gently squeeze the recommended number of drops into the pocket you have formed. (Avoid contacting dispenser tip with hands or eye surface).
Take your hands away from your face, shut your eye and move the eyeball from side to side.
Wipe off any medication running down your cheeks with a clean tissue, put the cap back on the dispenser and wash your hands.
Instilling ointment in your eyes
Wash your hands, uncap the tube dispenser and stand in front of a mirror.
Relax and take time before proceeding.
Gently pull your lower eyelid down with your forefinger to form a pocket for the ointment.
Tilt your head back slightly.
Holding the tube between the thumb and forefinger, rest your hand against your nose to position the tip and gently a small strip of ointment into the pocket. (Avoid contacting tube tip with hands or eye surface).
Take your hands away from your face, shut your eye and move the eyeball from side to side.
Wipe off any excess ointment from your face with a clean tissue, put the cap back on the tube and wash your hands.
