Macquarie University Private Hospital |
Macquarie University Private Hospital is an $80 million joint venture development between Macquarie University and Dalcross Private Hospital. The development will establish a major medical precinct within the Macquarie University Research Park to complement the Allied Health teaching services offered by Macquarie University.
The Macquarie University Private Hospital will provide ‘state of the art’ hospital facilities with high quality care standards, as well as facilitate the delivery of health education and research on site.
The Hospital will incorporate the latest design features, providing inpatient and outpatient services, and will make a positive contribution to health services in the area. It will complement teaching and research services already offered at the University and will be a resource available for referral by general practitioners and specialists.
The hospital will deliver cutting edge medicine involving training, medical research and high quality patient care in select specialty areas.
The new hospital will comprise:
- 150 beds
- 10 operating theatres
- 2 cardiac and vascular angiography suites
- Comprehensive radiology and pathology
- Radiotherapy and radiosurgery
- Specialist consulting suites on campus with specialisation in neurosurgery, cardiology, vascular surgery, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, general surgery, neurology and oncology services
The new hospital, to be located near the Travelodge Hotel, is still in the planning stage. It will include clinical research and teaching space, and the present plan is for teaching to commence in 2009.
