Nurses' Call System
Should you require assistance, do not hesitate to call on the nursing staff. The nurses’ call button is at your bedside, when pressed, the call registers outside your room until it is switched off at your bed.
Television
The hospital provides televisions free of charge - earphones are provided for those patients in shared rooms.
Accommodation
Each room is fully equipped with a private, spacious ensuite, air conditioning and all single rooms have a bar fridge. Restricted Cable television and national radio stations are at your fingertips, easily controlled via remote.
Accomodation for Relatives and Visitors
Dalcross Private Hospital does not provide accommodation for relatives/carers. A list of accommodation available in the area is available from Reception. For visitors accommodation, Dalcross Private Hospital recommends Killara Inn. For more details click here or speak to Reception.
Meal Times
Each day you will be required to fill in your menu card. The food menu is designed to provide a selection of foods to meet diversified tastes. If your diet has to be modified due to your illness this will be discussed with you by your doctor. The hospital dietitian will be available to provide the necessary instructions, so that you may continue your special diet at home if required. Visitor’s meals are available for a small fee, and should be ordered before 11am if possible. Please see Reception.

Visitors may obtain tea/coffee/snacks from vending machines located in the hospital. Please ask nursing staff or Reception for directions.

Mail
Mail will be delivered to you on each weekday. If those writing to you place your given name, surname and room or ward number on the envelope, this will save time in the sorting and delivery of letters. This is the same for faxes.
Clergy
If you wish, a visit by your nominated religious minister can be arranged through the Nursing staff or Reception.
Flowers
Patients in Intensive Care are unable to have flowers kept with them - should they be delivered during this time, they will be kept in the ward area.
Medical Information
When relatives or friends telephone the hospital enquiring about your condition, only very general information is given - we respect your privacy in this regard. You have the right to determine who should be informed by your doctor of your condition.
Diabetic Patients
If you use a machine to take your blood sugar levels, please have this with you during your hospital stay.
Pharmacy
Most medications associated with your procedure are supplied during your stay in hospital. Additional medications, both prescription and non-prescription products, are provided by John Bell Pharmacist Advice. One of the pharmacists from John Bell Pharmacy is in attendance at the hospital each weekday between 1.00pm – 2.00pm. You can discuss your medication with the pharmacist at this time or call the pharmacy on 9331 2844. If you need help in managing your medication regime after you leave hospital, check with our pharmacist about the benefit of the specially designed blister packs, which ensures you get the right dose at the right time.
Medications
For your safety and to avoid any adverse interactions, all treatments by tablets, mixtures, injections, etc, are prescribed and administered by hospital staff. Please advise the Nurse Unit Manager of any medications brought in with you.

SDS Pathology has a laboratory at Dalcross Private Hospital.
Radiology Services
Dalcross Diagnostic Services provides an extensive range of diagnostic/therapeutic radiology services on site.
Allied Health
Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Worker Services are also available.
Suggestions, Problems And Complaints
If you have a concern or problem about any aspect of your hospital stay or treatment, please inform the ward staff directly involved with your care. Hospital staff are committed to solving problems quickly.
Receiving information from
patients can alert staff to problems that have not previously been identified. If you are
not satisfied with the response you receive or if you wish to inform us of your concerns,
you can contact the Nursing Unit Manager, Director of Nursing or CEO at the hospital
who can:
- Discuss a problem with you confidentially
- Help with any concerns you may have about the care you receive and, with your
permission, talk with appropriate staff members about your problem and advise you
of the outcome
- Give you more information about your rights as a patient, and
- Answer questions about the hospital’s services, policies and procedures
