Redevelopment of Dalcross
 |
Site Plans |
Dalcross is in the process of finalising plans to build a new surgical hospital on the campus of Macquarie University. It is expected that the new development should be completed in late 2008 or early 2009.
This will involve the transfer of all the acute surgical caseload from Dalcross in Killara to Macquarie University Private Hospital. The remaining question is, what is to happen to the existing Dalcross site in Killara.
The board has commissioned WHK Greenwood Consulting to develop a feasibility study in conjunction with architectural and Town Planning advice, to construct a comprehensive Aged Care, Independent Living and Sub acute medical health care facilities on the site.

Killara Redevelopment |
In essence the existing hospital will remain. The existing operating theatre complex will be converted to additional hospital beds. The hospital plans to acquire adjoining residential properties in Stanhope Road to develop a high level nursing home and independent living apartments.
Additional undercover carparking will be provided with access from Werona Avenue.
The owners are keen to maintain the residential façade to Stanhope road. The development will not exceed the three storey height of the existing building. The development will be in keeping with the local residential appearances with the appropriate setbacks and other council requirements. (front page should be shown here).

Elevations |
The total project is subject to Council approval and extensive neighborhood consultation.
